About the Art

There is nothing, nothing at all, so beautiful and luxurious as walking in the woods in the spring in Alaska with early Deer Heart creating a lush green carpet on the forest floor. Winter ends.

Inspired by the lush understory of Southeast Alaska, “Deer Heart” captures the deep greens and bold shapes of wild forest plants. Painted in Sitka, this piece celebrates the strength and tenderness of native foliage through layered color and gentle composition.
